Eternal Everything

Or Eternal Nothing

It seems neither can ever sting a total victory

Neither can fully destroy the other utterly

And so on

And so on

GNAW
GNAW

The Nothing gnaws the edges of Everything

With its darkness

Absoluteness

The completion of eternity

And the end

Everything contorts its only self

Never stopping

Always knowing that stopping is death

Always knowing that this is the place where finality is determined

And when defeated

When it can vibrate no more at a low, soothing frequency

And all that is left is man

In its highest frequencies

In its destruction with no regeneration

Finality with no birth

No illusions of creation to stay sane

Only the high frequencies left screaming out to men in the outlands

Who have battled the Nothing

Who have seen the Nothing

Who, as required by their oath, had to become intertwined with the Nothing

Once I held my dying child I saw the Nothing

I knew then where I was

In the outlands of the Everything

Battling Nothing

Battling Eternity

Being changed by it

And by the time your cries reach me across our body

Across the Everything

They only sound like screams

We know you are crying

But it feels like screaming

And it feeds us

It feeds our battle with the Nothing

This part of the Everything is blocked from comfort

We are immune to comfort

To be immune to pain

Because we are sent here to face Nothing

So you

The giver

The creator

From where cries ascend

We see you crying

At a distance

I see it now

It sounded like screaming

It sounds like screaming

I can’t hear crying

I can’t feel comfort

I can’t turn my back to the Nothing

We are twisting and turning

We are twisting and turning

To turn my back

Is to risk eternity

To turn my back to your cries and embrace

Is to open the last door

The door to the End

Twist and turn

Until we break apart again

So the Nothing cannot become us

It cannot find all of me

It cannot find all of us

We’ll meet back up

Sometime later

In the meantime

Forget we knew each other

It’s the safest for all of us

It’s the safest because otherwise

The Nothing

Might get us all

Does the Universe Have a Plan for My 9-5 Grind, or Should I Just Hit Snooze Again?

COMPANY MAN: A STATEMENT FORTHCOMING
COMPANY MAN: A STATEMENT FORTHCOMING

Have you ever woken up and asked yourself, "If everything already exists, why should I go to work?" This question often creeps in on those sluggish mornings when your bed envelops you in comfort, tempting you to hit that snooze button one more time.

This thought reflects deeper ideas about purpose and the daily 9-5 grind we all experience. If the universe has a set plan, what value do our everyday efforts hold? Are we merely going through the motions, or does our work—whether it’s a dream job or just a paycheck—carry more importance than we realize?

Let’s unravel this puzzling question and explore possible answers that can transform your perspective.

The Nature of the Universe: Preordained or Chaotic?

When thinking about if everything is predetermined, we should consider differing views on the universe. Some people believe in determinism, where every event, including our job choices, was already decided. Others champion free will and randomness, suggesting we shape our own destinies with each decision we make.

If you lean toward the belief that everything is already mapped out, it might provoke a sense of hopelessness about your job. Why bother putting in daily effort if things are fixed?

Consider this: what if your job is an essential piece of a larger cosmic design? Every action you take could influence others and contribute to a broader story.

Reflecting on the distinction between wants and needs plays a crucial role here. While it's easy to feel trapped in a routine, perhaps your 9-5 serves as a stepping stone toward future discoveries—much like finding a gem on a long trek. For instance, many people start in entry-level roles but later discover that the skills gained made a significant impact when pursuing more rewarding positions.

Finding Meaning in Mundane Tasks

Daily work routines can often feel tedious. Endless emails, lengthy meetings, and stressful commutes can lead anyone to ponder the purpose behind it all. Yet, even these repetitive tasks may hold hidden value.

Every job can be a platform for learning essential skills. For example, an administrative position might sharpen your organization and communication abilities, while a customer service role may teach you conflict resolution and empathy. According to a report by the World Economic Forum, 54% of employees will require training to equip them for the jobs of the future. This indicates that the skills you're gaining today could be crucial tomorrow.

It’s easy to underestimate the importance of what we do daily. Picture a time where your friendly support helped a coworker figure out a problem. Those small acts build connections and greatly enrich our work lives.

Embracing the Journey of Growth

A powerful way to explore life’s meaning is by focusing on personal growth. Instead of viewing work as just a means to an end, consider it an opportunity for advancement. How can your daily tasks help you evolve?

Adopt a curious mindset. Embrace challenges as avenues for learning rather than obstacles to overcome. A well-known saying suggests, “What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.” Recognizing the hurdles you've faced can prepare you for even grander achievements in the future.

Work may seem repetitive, yet it can teach you to face challenges and build resilience. For instance, navigating a difficult team project may lead to a promotion later on, or a creative idea you proposed could open doors to new projects—every day spent grinding lays down the groundwork for future achievements.

The Impact of Small Gains Over Time

Let’s think about the idea of compound growth—not in finances but in skills and experiences. Just like money accumulates interest, the skills and relationships you develop at work can grow if tended properly.

Every hour you invest can lead to unexpected benefits. Your insight might lead to a breakthrough that transforms your department, or your mentorship might spark growth in a colleague. The cumulative effect of these contributions can significantly enhance your work life.

For instance, someone who takes the initiative on a small task may soon spearhead an entire project. Growth often takes time, so keep nurturing your abilities.

Choosing Passion Over Paychecks

While we often must prioritize a paycheck, it’s vital to find joy in our work. If the universe has a plan, it likely includes a sense of fulfillment.

Jobs that align with your interests make the workday more enjoyable. Explore industries or positions that reflect your values, rather than merely focusing on salary.

If your job feels like a burden, contemplate shifting toward roles that ignite your passion. Transitioning doesn’t necessitate an immediate resignation; you could start a side project or ask for different responsibilities.

Remember, if everything already exists, there may be a dimension of fulfillment lying just beneath the surface of your current position that’s waiting to be uncovered.

The Importance of Mindset

Have you ever noticed how much our mindset influences our daily experiences? Adopting a positive perspective can transform how you navigate your workday. Approaching each day with gratitude helps you recognize small joys, whether it's finishing a project or sharing a laugh with colleagues.

Shifting your mindset can alter your view of purpose. Instead of focusing on things being predetermined, think about how you can shape your own journey. You may discover that you wield more power over your path than you initially realized.

Creating a gratitude practice helps maintain this perspective. Reflect on aspects of your job you appreciate, whether that’s contributing to a team goal or simply enjoying a well-deserved coffee break.

Building Connections in the Workplace

Your daily work environment is a rich social space filled with chances to connect. Building relationships can lead to personal growth and enhance your overall experience.

Working together toward a common goal helps foster bonds, making challenges easier to navigate. Realizing you are part of something bigger can infuse meaning into the tasks that may seem trivial.

Connecting with colleagues doesn’t require large gestures. Simple acts—like chatting over lunch or lending a hand—help build bonds that create a positive workspace.

These connections can motivate you to wake up each day feeling inspired and engaged.

Shaping Your Own Universe

While pondering if everything is predetermined, remember you play a critical role in shaping your reality. If your daily grind feels exhausting, it's time to take action.

Define what you find meaningful—whether it's aligning your role with your values, setting fresh career goals, or allowing yourself to explore new hobbies. Taking charge of your path leads to a more intentional life.

Consider regularly checking in with yourself. Listen to your inner voice; often, it guides you toward opportunities beyond your job constraints.

Embracing the Journey Ahead

So, here we are with that lingering question—if everything is already laid out, how do we justify working? The answer is not straightforward; it's more about cherishing the journey than fixating on the outcome.

Instead of viewing your daily grind as futile, immerse yourself in the present. Invest in personal growth, forge connections, and cultivate a positive mindset.

By doing all this, you can uncover deeper meanings in daily tasks and reshape your 9-5 experience. Whether there is an elaborate cosmic plan or not, you can take an active part in crafting your universe.

Next time you wonder, "Why bother going to work?" remember that the magic lies in the routine. You have the power to make every day meaningful.
